Banned words: honeydew, maiden, male, female

So I first read this book in 2020 and I loved it. Thought it was the best thing since sliced bread

Then I got bored this year and decided to read it again and oh my I was mistaken.

I struggled. I was in struggle city. I was in Spain without the S.

There was zero plot. Zero character development. For the first 50% NOTHING HAPPENED. I just had to read the word maiden and chosen about a million times. I get it. She’s the maiden. She’s a virgin. Good for her. DONT NEED TO MENTION IT EVERY PARAGRAPH

Poppy is clearly meant to come off as this badass dagger welding rebel badass who sneaks out and breaks rules but she came off so cringy and annoying.

Don’t get me started on Tawny and Kieran. Names that literally come from their skin colour. Kieran is Irish for black?? Tawny is quite literally a way of saying a browny orange colour. You have two POC characters in your book and can’t even come up with decent names.

HONEYDEW WAHT THE FUCK
