The Ballad of Aramei by J.A. Redmerski
4.0

I think my first status update about this book pretty much sums up my feelings about this book and series: "It's time to knock this series off my list." After [b:The Mayfair Moon|13432620|The Mayfair Moon (The Darkwoods Trilogy, #1)|J.A. So, why the 4 star rating then? Well, if I review this book objectively (without my blasé attitude getting in the way), it was a pretty good finale. Although the beginning was a little slow, it was interesting to see Aramei's life through her eyes and follow her tragic love story with Trajan. There was also plenty of ass-kicking and unexpected twists that kept me interested enough to keep reading. I found myself intrigued and invested in Nathan's story the most in this novel. The stuff he goes through this time around is just so unfair, and although I didn't see his HEA coming, it was fantastic. Other than that,
