3.0

3.5 stars - another book stolen from charlotte’s goodreads, I enjoyed listening to it and it was funny and super interesting to hear a first hand account about the 60s 70s 80s in New York. The first few essays including the titular “I Feel Bad About My Neck” were not my favorite though, because I simply could not relate, Nora Ephron and I come from such different generations and such different ideas of womanhood and like I’ve never once remarked on the fact that women’s necks start to get saggy starting as early as 40 and now I’m looking at everyone’s necks on the bus because of her. And like “On Maintenance” I get it the pressure to look young have your hair dyed etc but complaining about how long it takes to get a mani pedi?? As the book went on I liked it more though, especially the essay about her apartment
