A pretty decent book. I liked the smut in it, it was really well described and handled - nothing too cringey for my tastes.

It is a darker topic kind of book but nothing that shocked or revolted me but that’s just me. Definitely not the book for someone who’s squeamish with murder or blood or heavy descriptions of murder scenes/bodies.

I actually really like Cole. I have no idea how but Lark has managed to make a revoltingly controlling, obsessive and possessive sociopathic stalker into a worthy love interest - although maybe psychopathic would be the better description. He seems to be going down a love route with Mara but at this point it’s more obsession than anything. I particularly applaud Lark for being able to write two killers in a story and make you feel a completely different way about each - one you hate (and know you shouldn’t) love and one you love to loathe (hate isn’t a strong enough word for the character of Alastair Shaw). The touch of Cole not having any female victims and Mara’s self-awareness of how wrong it is to car and want to be around someone who takes life just because he can is also incredibly well done.

Overall, pretty interesting. I can’t wait to see what ‘There Is No Devil’ brings about.
