Ah, so here's where Anne and Gilbert's relationship really takes the spotlight! I was kind of upset with Anne for
denying her feelings for so long and hurting both Roy and Gilbert in the process
, but oh boy, was that ending worth it. So sweet!  💗

Like mine in real life, Anne's college years went by in a flash. I wish we got to see her actually immersed in her studies - what she was like in the classroom, as a parallel to her school days in Avonlea - instead of just being told that she's good at certain subjects. It felt more like "Anne in a pretty rented house with her roommates" than "Anne in college", if that makes sense. Still enjoyable, just not what I expected. I also found it jarring how she and her friends constantly talked about how ugly Charlie Sloane was...what was up with that? 💀 On the other hand, Philippa was a delightful new character! I hope we see her again in the next books.

Once again, great narration by Karen Savage. Highly recommend getting the audiobook from LibriVox!
