Part of Your World by Abby Jimenez
5.0
"Because sometimes family isn't what you're born into. Sometimes family is found."
This was my first Abby Jimenez book and I loved it! So many small-town romances feel cheesy and superficial, but this story certainly breaks that mold!
I loved the contrast between the characters' lifestyles and how they met in the middle. Alexis came from such a privileged background and I really appreciated the fact that her character was empathetic and recognized such privileges. She wasn't conceited and she was self-aware of the type of people her family and friends were. Watching her battle the pressure of family expectations with coming to terms with the emotional abuse that she went through with her ex and family while finding herself in a small town was such a great dynamic and made her such a vulnerable and deep character. As for Daniel, he is definitely the blueprint for a significant other. The way that he is obsessed and so patient with Alexis was adorable and I will now spend forever looking for my Daniel.
The writing style was great and I was never bored with this book. The plot was well paced and everything worked well together. Side character storylines got their full arcs and the dual POV approach to the story was the best as I always adore watching the main characters totally obsess over each other. There really isn't a bad thing I can say about this book!
Overall, if you're looking for your next small-town romance with a great plot and fantastic characters, this is it! I will certainly be looking up Abby's backlist now as I truly enjoyed this book and can certainly see myself rereading it!
