I was not expecting this book to hit me so hard!

It’s been in my reading list for so long, I knew that the story wouldn’t be happy, and I didn’t have the mental capacity to deal with it. Someone online literally scolded me for not taking the time to start this series, so I gave in and opened it up.

I never read anything from Adam Silvera and I truly regret that. “They both die at the end” is a story that will stay with me for a long time: I’ve spent years in therapy dealing with anxiety and the feeling of wasting my life. The words in this book feel like a friend’s hug telling me: “Dummy! Stop that little brain of yours from being so dramatic and go live your life however you want it!”.

I honestly cried for the whole second half of it. It took me a moment to feel the characters and get into the story, but once I did, it flooded me with emotions. You can’t help but hope it doesn’t end like you know it will end. I mean, it’s in the title! And yet, you hope something else happens, that there’s a twist of sorts… but alas, it doesn’t.

Can’t wait to start the second one
