Friends and Strangers by J. Courtney Sullivan
2.0

Blerg and blech. I did not find this ‘insightful, hilarious or compulsively readable’ at all. This is the second book of Sullivan’s I found BORING. It is well written (ergo 2 stars), but as with her book Maine, I found the story pedestrian and the main character entitled and annoying. This time I stopped reading. Life’s too short. Maybe it’s just the topic of women feeling powerless and bored in their lives that grates on me, but I think it’s the execution as well. Southern Book Club’s Guide to Slaying Vampires explores that theme in a far more interesting way — I really couldn’t stop reading that. ugh. I’ve spent too much time on a review for a book I didn’t like!
