No because WTF was this... I knew a bit going into it so can I really blame the book? No. It's not my cup of tea. Warning! This is a very toxic relationship and is not only traumatizing to the FMC but also the reader :) A GUN?? I CAN'T NOT GO BACK TO MY LIFE BEFORE READING THAT. I just don't get the hype around it at all. Over and over again we as the reader are reminded of human trafficking and sex trafficking and the importance of consent yet we don't see that in the FMC/MMC's relationship... It feels like a situation that's being romanticized because the "love interest" is described as the hottest man alive. Would it be the same story if he were ugly? Anyways, this was an interesting experience.
