Metal Slinger

This book needs world building. Like, a lot. Seriously, there is an entire group of people who can't go on land, but somehow live in trees? It is minimally discussed (and because of that, makes no sense to me tbh). If the world was built out, I feel like this would have absolutely had the potential to be at least a four star read to me....until the end. There are two ways that we could have gotten the ending we did and had it work. The first would have been to have it all up front (I'm thinking like The Bridge Kingdom). Have the chapter of Jovi/B talking to Kai about their plan before it happens, and have her slowly feel guilty for it throughout and end up modifying her plan based on the love of Acker. The second, which involve modifying the story much more but would probably be better is to have this NOT be a first-person single POV. Alternatively maybe some magical intervention/interference to make Jovi/B forget her initial goal? But there is absolutely no way a person, whose POV we even get while she is sleeping, wouldn't think about her plan at all for the entire time covered by this story.
So, basically, I will not be continuing the series unless the FOMO gets completely out of control and I also run out of books on my TBR....so pretty unlikely.
