This is a good book. It is absolutely a good book.

My issue with it is that most of the book walked that fine line between balancing the good and bad that life can bring, and being sad for the purpose of an emotional reaction in the reader. When A. J. was diagnosed with a rare brain cancer it fell firmly into being sad for the same of being sad. And that's not my kind of book.
