The Night she tied her scarf around my thigh and then offered me her hand, my life became hers.

Does a killer machine deserve love?

9 books in this series have taken me on a roller coaster ride with ups and downs and twists and turns.
I think this is the best one yet
The characters were so well written and developed. The Plot, though rushed in some parts, flowed effortlessly.

Welcome to the dark world of the mafia, where the men are not morally grey but the darkest black. And yet, every person deserves to have love in their life.

⚜standalone: yes, but some characters from the previous series are mentioned
⚜Ending: HEA, and it sets the mood for the next book

Per the author's request at the beginning of the book, no spoilers will be given.
The only things I could tell you are :

1- Kai is so emotionally detached he is close to a robot. He has no empathy for anyone and anything. Bred and raised to be a killing tool, this is evidenced in a funny scene where he misunderstood Nera's referring to her plushies as her being hiding a dead body.

2- Nera's character was one of the best in this series. We see her change, grow and adapt as the story progresses. Kai refers to her as "tiger cub". She is no cub but a tigress.

I am looking forward to Massimo and Zara's book.
