The Girls I've Been by Tess Sharpe
5.0
ARC received from Edelweiss in exchange for an honest review.
This is a twisty YA thriller following Nora, a con artist raised by her con artist mother. Nora, Wes (her best friend and ex-boyfriend) and Iris (her girlfriend) are held hostage in a bank heist that has gone wrong. Nora uses her past skills and knowledge to try and get them all out alive. The writing style was wonderful, I loved the different chapters going from present to the past and through the different girls she once was. You will fall in love with Nora and by the end you will want to protect her from the trauma that she has gone through.
I really liked Iris and Wes as side characters especially Iris towards the end. The ending was perfect and really tied everything together. The only thing that I would have hoped for in this book was to see a bit more of Nora and Iris’ relationship. But overall, I really enjoyed this book and the found family aspect of it. Also, last thing, the fact that they had a character with endometriosis was like surprising to me, in a good way. I have never seen it portrayed in a book before. Wonderful.
