beyonder 's review for:
A Wrinkle in Time
by Madeleine L'Engle
amazing in the context of its day, mediocre but today's standards. I can see why it's being adapted to a film... but I'm *really* glad that they're taking the time to scrape the religion out of it. This book was telling a fun story one moment then throwing around some grade-A Christian bullcrap the next. it made me intensely uncomfortable.
I also detest having a protagonist so dumb that she litterally needs to be told things three or more times in a row before they sink in. It makes for highly tedious dialogue.
