5⭐️/ 3🌶️

First of, JEWEL E. ANN’s BOOKS JUST ALWAYS HIT FOR ME! With the stories I’ve read of hers so far, each book has left me obsessed with the storylines, the characters, and unique moments. Between the mix of emotional moments, to laughable ones, and romantic, Jewel E. Ann has captivated me each and every time. Price and Scottie’s story became one of those that I adored! I went into this book having no clue what it was about, but quickly found myself entranced by Scottie and Price’s past. This story wasn’t clear cut, there was something about Price that he was dealing with, but Scottie also found herself caught between two men, one from her past and the other from her current present. Like I said, I had no clue what this story was going to be, but with Jewel E. Ann’s magnificent writing, I was entranced by it all.

Tell me how I was able to read fifteen chapters straight within a morning? I’ll tell you, BECAUSE I WAS OBSESSED WITH THE CHARACTERS! Early on, I wasn’t necessarily sure what was going on with Price especially in terms of why he sought out Scottie, and his life, but I was loving Scottie’s easygoing personality and her joyful outlook on enjoying the moments in life. Based on what Scottie and Price mentioned, they obviously once dated many years ago, but even with all the time that passed, when they met up again, it was like they fell back into the swing of things.
I initially thought this was going to be a second chance romance, but when Scottie found herself meeting/falling for Koen, the grandson of one of her favorite customers, I FOUND MYSELF FALLING FOR KOEN TOO! By all means, Koen was very much NOT SHY as supposedly like his grandpa claimed.Anyways,I assumed Price was going to be the main man, but things weren’t set up in a way to be predictable which I liked. Scottie found herself enjoying talking again to Price, but also loving the moments she had with Koen. (Sigh) I’m serious, I genuinely loved Koen, even though his first meeting with Scottie wasn’t the meet cute we would all think of, but it was kind of funny looking back at it now haha.

My best evidence for this book would be, just go in blind. Not knowing what the book was about left me wondering where the story was going, and when the truth behind Price being back in Scottie’s life was revealed, I was taken aback! Granted, I had some feeling that something was going on with Price, but still didn’t take away the shock that he revealed. As the story progressed, I really found myself thinking about the things that Price said especially when it came to his outlook on life, and similar to Scottie embracing the moments in life. For what Price was dealing with, I admired his own perspective on things, and genuinely making me reflect on my life. Price wasn’t the typical “main lead”, and for the way he spoke, behaved, and overall was in this story made me appreciate him so much more. Again, this wasn’t your typical story, and the way Jewel wrote Price, it made me want to hug him, while also taking into account the things he said about several things.

Jewel E. Ann really dug deep for this story. I went into this book blind, and genuinely not knowing what to expect. The whole way through I loved how the direction the story went in, and to me it wasn’t a conventional romance story you would expect. I found myself reflecting on things both Price and Scottie talked about, and even the things they dealt with individually. As much as this story revolved around Scottie and Price finding themselves back in each other’s lives, it also highlighted the beautiful lives they had separately. At first, I assumed Koen wasn’t going to be a main character alongside Scottie, but I quickly changed my tune when I found myself falling in love with his not so shy demeanor, and adoring love he had for Scottie. The more this story unfolded, it became glaring clear just how much Price was dealing with on a magnitude of life and death. Again, this wasn’t a clear cut story, it illustrated a story of finding your first love back in your life, and dealing with life when faced with heartbreaking circumstances. I found myself smiling, reflecting, laughing, sad, and by the end crying at all the things that happened in Scottie and Price’s life. Jewel E. Ann always writes incredible stories, and once again she wrote a beautiful story that took me on an emotional journey, but one that I loved. I’ll never forget the Scottie, Price, and Koen, they were incredible and I loved them a lot.
