The Dreamers by Karen Thompson Walker
5.0

Karen Thompson Walker has big ideas. THE DREAMERS is as ambitious as THE AGE OF MIRACLES. When a city of people begin falling asleep inexplicably panic begins to swell.

Will the dreamers awaken. Is it a fatal infection? Those left awake begin doing all they can to avoid sleep while others scramble to research for a cause. Tension mounts and friend and family turn against each other as anxiety takes hold.

While the characters didn't rise to the same level for me as those in THE AGE OF MIRACLES, nor did the plot satisfy to the same degree, it's clear KT Walker has a massive talent for storytelling and I'd recommend this book to anyone.
