Hans Andersen's Fairy Tales by Hans Christian Andersen, Caroline Peachey, E. Jean Roberton, Shirley Hughes

4.0

I've read a few of the tales in this book as they're mixed in with other stories in the various Fairy Books by Andrew Lang, which I've been working my way through recently. I hadn't really noticed how different they are in nature compared with other fairy tales until I read this collection. They feel much more deliberate, with a lot more description and individual characters. Though Andersen's fairy tales differ from other stories falling under that name, I still enjoyed them and will read more of them (this collection only contains a few of his stories).
