I was told Tumblr gifs of this bl would cure my mental illness so if Thailand doesn't adapt it, the entire country will be disobeying my doctor's orders and I'll see you in court.
I started this book a bit lost at all the angst because Chinatsu's past life is never fleshed out and quickly fell for the character's chemistry and the breathtaking illustrations. The physically imposing Chinatsu, always surrounded by darkness, clad in dark suits contrasting with the short-haired androgynous looking Kasumi in his beautiful light kimonos, whose blindness kept him in almost permanent darkness save for the strongest lights.
Often, BL likes to tread on the line past consent to justify the BL part (and the bottom's family honour), and I'm so happy that nothing like that happened here. Kasumi takes plenty of initiative and makes his interest and intentions known to Chinatsu, who loves nothing else than falling to his knees in acts of devotion and service. They have one of the most romantic and emotionally bare love declarations I have ever read.
Chinatsu treats Kasumi like a person, listens to him, appreciates him, loves him and ensures he has the tools to succeed professionally and have a voice in their lives as the capable adult he was.
The only thing Chinatsu did wrong was not hating Kasumi's family enough, but I guess he did the next best thing by taking him away and making his dreams come true.
Ps: the author revealed that Chinatsu is younger than Kasumi and has him apologise for having grown taller!!! Please, inject this book into my bloodstream.
Thank you Edelweiss, LoveLove and Penguin Random House for this DRC.
