The Bridge Home by Padma Venkatraman
5.0
The Bridge Home has captured my heart and soul. By exposing the realities that children all over the world must face, Venkatram pours her heart into the pages of this story.
Venkatram entrances her audiences with a strong and heart warming protagonist. She illustrates what it is like to have to choose between homelessness and abuse. She manages drag along humor, sentiment, and persistence despite the tumultuous path Viji finds herself on.
Venkatram also uses her imagery and story to point out the insidious intentions of “good doers” and forces her audiences to think about their own actions as to why they seek to help those in need.
Yet, despite all of this, she reminds her readers that there is always hope, and it’s important to never give up.
