Wow. Just wow. This book was so beautifully written. Caitlyn Battelle has a gift for turning a phrase. With a simple turn of phrase, she creates thought-provoking and unique descriptions of ideas, feelings, actions, and scenery. Because of this, the world-building is visceral and immersive. I was deeply feeling how the characters felt right along with them. I absolutely love her writing style!
This is my favorite Hades x Persephone retelling so far and we've barely even scratched the surface of their relationship. I cannot wait to experience it as it unfolds. "Hades" is already making me melt. 🫠
Each and every character is fleshed out and multi-dimensional, even if our time with them is short.
Vague Spoilers Ahead... Skip this last bit if you'd like to go in blind...

The destruction of Elysia and Topp's relationship throughout this book is tragic, but it so perfectly reflects both of their motivations. Their choices can be very frustrating at times, but they make perfect sense based on their past traumas and personal goals moving forward.
I enjoy concise reviews so here are my final thoughts, the action is intense, Lina is adorable, and I wouldn't mind hearing more about the romantic relationships of our side characters, especially Gage's 😏.
