I received this book as an advance read from Goodreads Giveaways.
A touching romance between two young Holocaust survivors who are convalescing in refugee camps in Sweden.
Twenty-five year old Miklos has been told by his doctor that he has six months to live, the effects of his internment at Belsen are too great to overcome. Miklos, though, is a very determined young man and he has decided that he wants to find a wife. He begins by writing letters to 117 young Jewish woman who are from his home town. Several respond, but it is the letter from Lili that catches him. A correspondence begins and soon the two young people are falling in love. They overcome many hurdles to contrive a face to face meeting that cements their growing affection.
Based on a true story as told through the letters, carefully preserved. I would highly recommend!
