A present day narrator looking back on a particular moment in th eIrish contemporary milieu. Liked where it went, took a lot of twists to get there. Central decision point of the novel was a great knot of justice and emotion. MC comes off a bit whiny, but it's a bildungsroman and that's kind of the point. Gutted at the codependency descriptions. 😭
