- Roadtrips
- School rivals to lovers
- Great communication between MC
I honestly have no notes, other than this book (IMO), is pure perfection. The banter, the chemistry, the talks about grief, the COMMUNICATION between the characters was just amazing. Is my first time reading a book by Jessica Joyce and now I know it won't be the last. I adored Noelle so much, and was able to relate SO MUCH with her. Theo was incredible, sweet, flirty, at times grumpy but a flawed character that although dreamy, had depth to him. Recently I've read books where the mmc is a perfect human, no flaws and it just get tiring. With both Noelle and Theo you get mature (yet playful) characters that understand they need to grow, communicate their feelings and understand that perfection is unattainable. AHH I love them!!!!!!!!! When it comes to the plot, I see a lot of people complaining about the whole "TikTok" thing, and while SURE, it could be "annoying" , the impact of social media (instagram, Facebook, tiktok) is part of our lives and it will make its way into books/movies/shows. I didn't mind it one bit.
I will do the book a disservice if I don't talk about the grief aspect of it. I believe it was beautifully written and presented. As someone that lost a very important person in my life, I saw myself in the way Noelle was dealing with the grief. It's never a linear road, it has its bad days and it's not so bad days. I just love how it was discussed and how it acknowledges that the pain of losing someone although real and difficult, won't last forever, but the memories and love for them, will.
