Annihilation by Drew Karpyshyn
3.0

It's taken me so long to finish this book, but I'm glad I finally did. I didn't find it as good as the other Old Republic series books and I'm still not sure why, except that I wasn't too crazy about the Theran/Satele/Jace relationship going on and maybe that's part of why it was so difficult to finish in a more timely manner. I have to say my favorite parts involved the battle scenes and I even enjoyed the tensions between Theron and the twi'lek smuggler Teff'ith.

If I had been reading this rather than listening as an audiobook, I'm not sure when I might have gotten back to finishing the book. It was narrator Marc Thompson's incredible range of voices that did make this the most enjoyable format for me. I've listened to him narrate several other Star Wars books and I definitely would listen to anything he does.

One thing that I did enjoy with the book is that as a player of the RPG Star Wars: The Old Republic, and rather a 'newbie' when it comes to the Star Wars universe in general, these four books in the series have certainly added more depth for me when I play the game (as I also do some rp when playing). I do hope there is another book in this series in the works. I would really enjoy it as I do like Drew Karpyshyn's writing style too.
