When Force Meets Fate: A Mission to Solve an Invisible Illness
by Jamison Hill
I have to admit, when Jamison reached out, I was a little apprehensive. When Force Meets Fate is not my typical style of book, but I was drawn in by the fact that this was a memoir that Jamison had written during such a struggle, some of it was even typed out on his phone!
So I picked it up and from page one I was invested. I was shocked as we followed Jamison through the events in his life, the car accident and him becoming more unwell by the day. I can only imagine how terrifying that must have been.
Jamison is incredibly raw and vulnerable throughout his book. He discusses every part of his life and how it was effected and all while giving so much love to his caregivers including his mother, who really supported him and still do.
This book opened my eyes to how lucky I am to have what I have and what we all take for granted.
This book took great strength to write and evokes feeling of awe, inspiration, sadness and anger. I felt so angry at some of the health care professionals and also at the health care system. The fear of knowing your health is declining is enough, having to worry about insurance and cost aswell ? Nope.
The book is almost diary style, it makes for an easy reading experience about a difficult subject matter.
A very easy 5 stars for this book. It will really open your eyes to what someone may be going through.
Thank you so much for Jamison Hill for a copy of his book in exchange for an honest review.
