Goodbye, Eri by Tatsuki Fujimoto

mysterious medium-paced

4.0

I picked up Goodbye, Eri due to watching a video by Daryl Talks Games. His video titled "Horror Games About Waking Up" was really interesting to watch, he talked about consciousness and and how games and movies will tell a story of a characters consciousness being transferred to a clone or an AI or in to the distant years in the future. One of the examples he brought up was about Goodbye, Eri. He explained the basic premise and before he could go into detail I quickly skipped ahead to not be spoiled.

So, that's what this review kinda is. I don't want to say too much because I think the whole story is really interesting even though it's a tad bit easy to see where it's going to lead. The beginning has the main character taking video of his dying mother on her request. He has hours and hours of footage of his mothers last moments, until the day of her death comes and he runs away...

Goodbye, Eri dives into a world of memory and what memories mean to other people, what kind of person are you to other people, and how will you be remembered.

This one shot is a quick but exciting read, the ending is great!
