Bluebird and Other Tattoos/Bluebird Y Otros Tattoos by Luna Miguel

4.0

With Spanish on the left pages and English on the right, this collection of poems from a young Spanish poet feels very contemporary while still looking back to tradition. A few come off as somewhat incomplete, but many feel right and visceral. The body figures heavily into the writing, as does family, death, and sex. I feel that poetry is the hardest genre to give ratings to, so this is based primarily on my gut reaction.
