Trigger warnings: murder, violence, attempted kidnapping, mentions of asylums

THIS SERIES IS SO FREAKING GOOD!

I think this is my favorite book so far. I am one of those people who are easily entertained and I am not very good at following clues to a murderer. Which makes these kinds of books super engaging and fun for me! The mystery in this book was a lot more intense and nerve-wracking than I expected. The stakes were so much higher than the ones previous and the bigger plot around the whole series is becoming clearer. I loved how the author moved through time in this particular book and was both shocked and pleasantly surprised with the ending. I am officially obsessed with this series, scared to see what happens next but also so excited to find out!

SpoilerI always do have to mention that I love the slowburn aspect of the romance between Charlotte and Ingram. I honestly didn't expect them to ever give into their feelings, emotional or sexual. I know it was only for the purposes of catching the culprit, but it brought me so much joy to see them be romantic and loving! I really really really hope that they get together at the end of the series
