Psycho
by Onley James
These Mulvaney men. No boundaries! None.
I loved clueless August. Loved him. He is so sweet and endearing and swoony without even trying. Obsessive? Stalkery? No social boundaries? Sure. But I loved that this (self proclaimed) “quirky” brother found his person that not only liked HIM as a person but found his special interests as special as the man behind them.
August wants so desperately to make Lucas like him and he has absolutely no idea how to make it happen! The way he tries just shows how much he “cares” (seriously. It’s somewhat hard to think of these guys as psychopaths with how sweet they can be) and had me putting my hand to my heart again and again.
Lucas has been through the ringer professionally and personally and yet- takes August and his family at their word. I know he had his psychometry help, but, it was really nice for him to trust them so readily. I’m loving that there is very little internal relational angst. The conflict is all outside. Healthy cameos and *advice* from Noah and Adam and more insight into the entire family had me committing to finishing out the series even though it stresses me the heck out at moments! The romance is big enough to overshadow that.
While a little more on page gruesome than the previous book, this one still was written in a “gentle” enough way that I was anxious and adrenaline filled but able to step back from the detail and power through. Anyone else dying to know what the non serpent tattoos mean?
