God, Greed, and the (Prosperity) Gospel: How Truth Overwhelms a Life Built on Lies by Costi W. Hinn

4.0

I remember seeing clips of Benni Hinn's ministry on TV when I was young. I always felt uncomfortable with his theatrics and, therefore, wrote him off as a kook, but I never thought about his ministry past that.

God, Greed, and the (Prosperity) Gospel is written by Benni's nephew, Costi Hinn. I felt that Costi Hinn struck the right tone of "truth with grace" through what is essentially an exposé. Hinn lays all of the problems of the Prosperity movement on the table without revelling in bitterness or self-righteousness.

Costi Hinn's writing is clear and kept my interest throughout the book. I would recommend God, Greed, and the (Prosperity) Gospel to anyone who knows people in the Prosperity movement or who are interested in learning more about the Benni Hinn ministry.
