Hotel Laguna by Nicola Harrison, Nicola Harrison

This book started strong, but Hazel sucks. She has no redeeming qualities, and every decision she makes is more stupid than the last. Hanson is your textbook 'Grumpy Old Man With a Secret', and the story as a whole was just 'meh'.

This book is struggling with a major identity crisis. Is it WWII women's fiction? Is it a vintage beach-town read? Is it art fiction? Yes...and no. It's all and none of those things, and because of that, it fails to draw the reader in.

Overall, this was very forgettable and I would not recommend it. I'm sorry I gave it the amount of time I did.
