Alright I think Tarryn Fisher was trying to give me a heart attack while she wrote these books. Honestly I don't think I have ever been so emotionally in to a series of characters. Even Leah had a few moments there where I felt bad for her but then she acted like an evil witch and that moment moved on quickly. Which is why these three books deserve more than 5 stars!
I don't think anyone has a more messed up relationship than Caleb and Olivia and not gonna lie I loved it. After The Opportunist I was an emotional wreck I couldn't even think about looking at the second book for over a day (That's right I was one of the lucky ones who was slow to the Love Me With Lies train) After the first books I was all NOO why can't they just make it work, curse you Leah!! Little did I realize how important Noah and Leah would be to Caleb and Olivia being able to make their relationship work.
Sadly ten years has gone by since Caleb and Olivia were together in college. Thief Is written in in Caleb's POV and also has past and present scenes. Boy could I have not loved that anymore. Caleb is so kind, loving and arrogant that I loved being in his head. Caleb knows he is it for Olivia he is so tired of trying to do right by everyone else and being the one to loose what he loves. So after everything with Leah he see's he can't love anyone else. so Caleb does what any man at the end of their wits would do, he fights for her with everything he has.
That was the exact moment my heart threaded with hers. It was as if someone reached down with a sewing needle and stitched my soul to hers. How could one woman be so sharp and so vulnerable at the same time? Whatever would happen to her would happen to me. Whatever pain she would feel, I would feel it too. I wanted it — that was the surprising part. Selfish, self centered Caleb Drake loved a girl so much he could already feel himself changing to accommodate her needs.
I fell.
Hard.
For the rest of this life and probably the next.
I wanted her — every last inch of her stubborn, combative, catty heart.”
Olivia is still married to Noah.
Oh Noah I loved him for Olivia he helped her really see who she was and that she wasn't this terrible person she believed herself to be that she deserved to be loved. Noah's only fault is he isn't Caleb Drake.
You care about her, Caleb. That's fine with me. You and I won't have a problem as long as you keep your hands off of my wife."
This book completed it all for me. I needed to know what Caleb was thinking. I needed to understand why he fell in love with Olivia because in The opportunist Olivia paints herself as such a bad person(I thought she was great) but I just really needed to understand Caleb's love for her and why he kept going after her. Now that I know everything Caleb did and why he did it my heart broke all over again. Caleb and Olivia both made so many mistakes over the years and it seemed sometimes love isn't enough to over come everything.
"I love him."
"More than me?"
"I don't love anything more than I love you."
I feel like I can't express how great these books really are I am going to remember so much. Tarryn Fisher is an amazing writer and there are just so many quotes I loved and I just loved it all.
Life does not accommodate you, it shatters you. Love is mean, but it's good. It keeps us alive.
