Brilliant! One of the best classic gothic novels in English.
It definitely has a particular style that can be a bit difficult to get along with, but you just have to throw yourself into, and give in to, it really.
The descriptions of the monster and his creation are pretty horrifying and intense. The dialogue can come across as melodramatic, but again, you just have to throw yourself into the time period and the style (it's not a contemporary novel after all).
And finally, the sheer depth of the ideas and themes explored in the novel will keep you thinking about it for a long time.
