Daphne is so grotesquely unlikeable, over-privileged and under-grateful but also so human in her compulsions, fears, lies, and her intense impostor syndrome. The first half of the book took me awhile to get through but I sped through the second half. Difficult to articulate my feelings about this one but undoubtedly a unique start to my 2024 reading year :)
