An engaging, tense mystery/thriller set with the premise of an elaborate writing retreat gone wrong. I enjoyed the use of perspectives here, to toy with the reader’s perception of events and motivations. I especially enjoyed Mila’s POV, who, as an (unwitting) accomplice, offered keen insights and doubts as to who the killer could be (and how they were pulling it all off while still remaining hidden). Lots of morally gray characters to be had here, and the play on a book-within-a-book and other classic tropes tickled my writerly heart. Would read again, just to hunt down the clues.
