Thank god she didn’t sign an NDA!! Thank you Sarah for giving us the tea 5👍
Some thoughts while reading:
- they could never make me like you Sheryl Sandberg!! (She is as pretentious and intolerable as she seems)
- The Zuck really is as pathetic and cringey as the Social Network makes him out to be
- SWW is a mix between Andie from the Devil Wears Prada and Amy from Veep but more Amy as Andie grows a backbone
- No girl don’t go to Myanmar!!
- I lost all respect for SWW when she pulled out her laptop to answer work emails during her own labour!!!
- The Zuck refusing to wear batik when meeting Jokowi (b/c it was too colourful) is such a red flag
- SWW doesn’t take enough accountability for her actions at FB imo: she joined 2010/11 post-Social Network so we knew that Zuck was not a good guy and there were definitely red flags and warning signs she CHOSE to ignore
- The only thing that has really shocked me in this book is slimey Sheryl Sandberg sleeping with her staffers!! I wish this woman would ‘lean in’ to the edge of a cliff
Originally I was going to take 1 star off for SWW’s lack of accountability and acknowledgment of her complicity at Facebook (especially during the genocide in Myanmar). But after watching her senate testimony and filing a whistleblower complaint to the SEC I feel like she is atoning for her sins.
Not mention she is under a gag order from Facebook and may never be allowed to mention the company ever again and faces personal and financial ruin from her book.
I think she has genuine remorse, regret and guilt about her time at Facebook, which cannot be said about any of the other former and current executives.
