Didn't Mean To Love You by Christina C. Jones

3.0

Thus far this series is really baby heavy and it’s driving me a bit nuts. I’m working through CCJ’s catalogue in publishing/series order and seeing the back to back repetitive beats makes it harder to isolate what I enjoyed about each couple at times.

That said, the downfall of this book for me was the timing of Carter’s reveal of his baggage. By the time the conflict between the two comes up, it feels callous to Viv and as the reader, I’m not enthused with either of them for continuing to push forward.

I’m just not a fan of romances revolving around this kind of dynamic, especially when there isn’t a whole lot of groveling in the picture.

Continuing with the series but seriously concerned they’ll all be like this.
