The Echo Wife by Sarah Gailey

4.0

Evelyn Caldwell is making breaking ground in the development of clones & clone technology when her marriage begins to fall apart. She’s willing to let things go with her husband quietly to save face in their field - despite knowing he was involved with another woman. When the other woman calls to ask Evelyn to meet, she is stunned to find that she is in fact a clone of Evelyn, manufactured to bend to her husband’s every wish and desire. Everything Evelyn thought she knew about her career, husband and herself starts to unravel soon after this revelation and she’s left to clean up the mess her husband leaves behind.

I really enjoyed getting to know the layers of Evelyn, her impending divorce and the discovery of her clone were woven so well together with stories from her childhood that allow the reader to understand why she behaves in certain ways. There were moments I couldn’t stand her and moments I was cheering her along, I love when a book can do that!
