I loved this book more than the main series.
Channi is such a loveable character. She's strong, independent and loving and despite her young age she's so mature and interesting. Her side kick snake Ukar is a personal favourite, I'm always a sucker for a fun and blunt speaking animal companion and here is no exception.
The story stands very well on its own, but obviously knowing how it will end from the beginning and trying to figure out all the plot points made it even more of an enjoyable read for me.
The writing is effortless, the characters chemistry on point, and the devotion and motivations of all characters made sense. I loved all the mythology and magic, bonus points for dragons being featured here and although I was never a fan of snakes, I really loved them in here!
Elizabeth Lim is an auto-buy author for me now and I know that every time I pick up one of her books, I won't be disappointed!
