McTavish Goes Wild by Meg Rosoff

4.0

This is book two in Meg Rosoff's three-part series following McTavish, a dog who was rescued from a shelter and now sets out to rescue his new family, the Peachey's. McTavish has his work cut out for him as several members of the Peachey family are quite resistant to change. In this volume McTavish hopes to open the eyes of the Peachey's to the beauty and enjoyment of nature. Will he succeed or will the family become food for the notorious river sharks?

This book is brightly paced and works very well when read aloud. Rosoff uses spare prose which is delightfully free of unnecessary plot entanglements. It's a simple light-hearted story that works quite well.
