Serial Killer Games by Kate Posey

‘“I’m allergic to people.” “Relatable.”’

I went into this book expecting a murder mystery but was pleasantly surprised when I realised it’s actually a quirky romcom with true crime vibes, dark humour & a woman who is convinced the new temp is a serial killer.

At its heart this book is about finding someone who truly understands you & accepts you for who you are. About finding connection & family in the most unlikely places. And about finding your passion and building a better life for yourself so you can truly protect & care for those you love.

There’s a lot of tension & suspense as the mystery builds & those we have a dual PoV can we really trust them. Dolores is such an interesting character and the more we get to know her the more I loved her & the fierce way she loves.

Jake Ripper (yes, that’s really his name) is also such an interesting character with death looming over him, he is trying to figure out what to do with the time he has left & then he meets Dolores.
The way he truly sees her, the small details & then the…unique…way they begin their romance. Had me hooked, wanting to know if they can truly make things work or if it will all come crashing down as secrets are revealed.

This is such an original story & I truly didn’t know what to expect as I read but I was completely hooked because I loved the characters so much!
