The Fated by C. L. Abrams

What a fun book! I adore the setting, as the romantic in me will instantly fall in love with any quaint medieval European town, given half the chance. Add in a twist on a Shakespearean classic, and I found myself looking for the details which corresponded to the original(ish) tale of Romeo and Juliet. Still, this is not a simple derivative piece. It brings in its own twists, a bit of magic, and a lot of intensity. Delving into family mysteries increases the tension and intrigue.
