Something Blue
by Emily Giffin
This book was cute. A little too saccharine for my taste by the end, but it was a nice, quick read about growing up and realizing what's important in life. Darcy had experienced two horrible break ups in Something Borrowed, but worked to pull it all together in Something Blue, which I think a lot of women have had to do at different points in their life. The characters in this book are a little obvious, but I think that's because if you've ever been to high school or college, you know people like them. Somehow it makes you care about the protagonists of both books like they're your friends in real life. You want them to work it out, but understand how they could be at their wits end with each other. I appreciate good "chick lit" (blech, I hate that term) on a lazy day just as much as I appreciate a good "chick flick" (double blech!) on a rainy day. It's time-passing yet when done well, entertaining and engaging. These books actually make me interested in what else Emily Giffin has to offer. I'd definitely recommend the series if you're looking for a fun read!
