All Quiet on the Western Front
by Erich Maria Remarque
I really enjoyed the way this story was told. Not that I like sadness but this story did a great job with showing the heaviness and devastation of war-I felt my heart feeling heavy too. If you are struggling mentally- probably not a great one to read because there is a hollowness that comes with such tragedy and loss that is felt when reading. It’s definitely graphic(so no sugar coating in this one) but it’s one of the best books I’ve read from a soldier’s point of view from WW1. I wish I would have read it sooner.
