the plot unfolded so perfectly. every chapter was interesting & every flashback was important. I finished 90% of the book in one day because I was hooked

spoilers:
I really liked Tate’s POV & related to her naive willingness to make the same mistakes. I think that even the slow-but-fast falling for him was done well.

& the tension in that one bathroom stitching scene. chef’s kiss.

honestly, the only part I kind of hated was Miles’ POV. I love the idea that when he’s in love, his thoughts turn into a poem with a different format. I just thought the way he described being in love was cheesy & unnatural. Maybe I’m just not a romantic, but I cringed at half of his thoughts or found them straight up obsessive. I know the point is that he loves too hard, but all it did was remind me that he’s another perfectly chiseled, stoic-on-the-outside, soft-on-the-inside, fictional man.

despite the clichés of the book, I ate it up. I’m realizing a lot of romance books give me nostalgia of how dramatic & cliché 2014 Wattpad books used to be, but I don’t really mind.
