I’m going to be honest and say I didn’t like this book as much as the first in the duet. I found there was a lot of unnecessary remarks and the author mentioned farting honestly about 10 times but it always felt totally out of place. This is also obviously much darker so there is that to consider if you struggled with the first one. Personally I coped okay but I could see that being an issue. Additionally, I kind of felt the last third of the book dragged a bit. I wasn’t super keen to pick it up even though I was waiting for answers I just kind of wasn’t desperate to find them. It wasn’t terrible and parts of it I still loved such as the tension between Addie and Zade and honestly just Zade in general. He shows some other sides to himself in this one and it was nice to see him become more rounded.
