Wow. This ended up being way more emotional than I thought it would be. I was expecting a fluffy rom-com, and while it had its clever points, it really revolved around the FMC and MMC’s pasts, and how they both deal with issues of safety. The FMC has become almost obsessive in her ritual upon arriving at her home after an incident during her childhood, and the MMC has been in mourning for 7 years after losing his fiancé to a violent altercation. Their safety and trust issues make it difficult for them to open up to one another, and it makes for such a heartbreaking third act breakup.
