I finished this book in a day and for good reason. Given that I really haven’t read in years, which includes fantasy, I loved the world this book is in and the detail. Although there were parts where Ahdieh’s writing style is choppier, it was overall still an enjoyable experience. I didn’t realize this book was part of a duology (I think), which immediately makes me nervous to read the second book since I normally don’t enjoy the second book as much. But this book, I enjoyed, so I’ll try not to let my skepticism for the second book ruin my enjoyment of this one.
