Bloodmarked is book 2 of the Legendborn series, and it picks up right where Legendbornd ends.
⚠️SO SPOILERS AHEAD( book 1) ⚠️

Bree is the heir of Arthur, Nick is missing.
I got to say that writing this review is hard because theres so much going on in this story. Bree coming to terms with her new reality, a war is coming and her love is missing. All of this while trying to learn how to yield her powers, and the inside battle that this brings to her life.

Honestly, I liked this book way more than book 1, and even that one I gave 4 stars. Bloodmarked for me was better paced, and although there was a LOT of things going on, and a lot of new information, I felt as if it was better explained than in book 1. Again, I love Bree so much, and William has my heart. The love triangle…is stronger in this one. Although I am a Nicholas girly through and through, it was hard not to feel for Sel, and see his chemistry with Bree.  They both had gone through so much in their lives and they have so much at stake, that is hard not to root for them. Can YA books have a "Why Choose?" trope? Because honestly, whatever the resolution of that love triangle is going to be, I am not going to be 100% okey with it. All that being said, the story continues to get better, the writing is superb and its just a fun time all around!!!

The ending…well I need book 3 ASAP. I need to know what happens because its a sticky situation!!

Like with Legendborn, I do want to recognize that the book has portrayals of racism and microaggressions that can be difficult to read for some. The book doesn’t shy away from the reality of being a black, and more specifically a black girl in the south. Although I will never understand the black experience, I think is very important that books don’t shy away from difficult topics like this one. PLEASE, Check TW !
