The Third Gilmore Girl
by Kelly Bishop
I almost feel ashamed for how little I knew about Kelly Bishop prior to her playing Emily on Gilmore Girls! My controversial opinion is that she was one of my least favorite characters during the regular show run of GG but my favorite character in the revival (to be fair, I was Rory's contemporary when the show was on, and my opinion has aged a bit).
If you're a GG fan, it's less about GG and more about Kelly's life overall which is truly fascinating and entertaining. I listened to the audiobook and adore her voice and inflection.
The only reason I knocked off a star is that I wanted 30 minutes to an hour about her experience with GG, as a superfan, but understand it's just a short stint in this woman's storied career (the namedrops + history in theater/on screen made me rewind a couple times... like how did I not know Morgan Freeman was a dancer?!).
